Visions Garden...

Vision's Garden is a project across from the Cape Maclear Primary School and acts as an educational after school project for orphans and vulnerable children. It is here that Mr. Vision teaches these children not only gardening skills, but also life skills.

Today the garden is successfully providing lettuce, cabbage, eggplant, basil, peppers, carrots and more to the local lodges. The money made off this produce is used to buy porridge, bread and tea for the orphans he assists. Vision feeds over 150 orphans at his house with the support of local lodges and international sponsors.

Malawi Education Project...

The Malawi Education Project is a Bristol (UK) based organisation that aims to support education, literacy and access to learning resources in Malawi. MEP began life as a book donation project, collecting surplus educational resources including books & stationary which were shipped to Malawi in 2006, and put to extremely good use in creating our two pilot libraries, in Cape Maclear Primary School and Sambani Secondary.

Energised by the success of the pilot, MEP came back to the UK where support for the project had grown, and decided to turn this good idea into a sustainable, effective and efficient charity, working hard to help thousands of the worlds' poorest children to gain an education that will in turn assist the development of Malawi as a Nation.

Environmental Awareness / Saving Malawi's Forest
Chembe Project Centre, HEEED and Sekanawo have teamed together to introduce the use of mud stoves to the community... we're also using this as an opportunity to raise awareness of environment issues associated with deforestation and the use of firewood as a main fuel source.

Mud Stoves are being built in different areas around the village which act as 'demonstration' stoves to show the people how the use of the stoves reduce the use of firewood by 2/3. A representative will man each stove and provide information to the community throughout each day.
